The dust collection unit of the ZIL-1600M series (ZIL 900) with electric motor Electric motor AIR 80 B2 2.2 Power kW 3000 Vol./Min, is an industrial vacuum system used for air purification in rooms with air temperatures ranging from -40 to +40°C and humidity up to 100%.
The dust collection unit ZIL-1600M w/motor AIR 80 B2 2.2 kW 3000 rpm (ZIL 900) must not be used in environments where the air contains sticky, chemically active, or fibrous contaminants. The maximum permissible dust concentration for the ZIL dust collector is 350 g/m3.
The ZIL-1600M dust collector consists of the following components:
- fan ZIL-1600M with electric motor Electric motor AIR 80 B2 2.2 Power kW 3000 Vol./Min;
- housing containing a cyclone and twelve filter sleeves;
- hopper with dust removal tray.
The filter sleeves are periodically cleaned using a manual shaking mechanism. For dust-laden air extraction, round metal ducts or flexible metal hoses should be used. Ducts should be installed along the shortest possible route, preferably without bends.

During industrial processes in many facilities, dust of various fractions is generated, and its permissible concentration is regulated by DSTU 12.1.005-88. The largest amounts of dust are formed during woodworking, building material processing, metal grinding and cutting, as well as in light and food industries. High dust concentration in workplaces reduces productivity, so the air must be forcibly cleaned. The most cost-effective solution is to install dust collection units designed to remove dust and chips from the working area.
The ZIL-1600M w/motor AIR 80 B2 2.2 kW 3000 rpm (ZIL 900) unit is capable of filtering 720 m3 of air and does not require additional components for air intake from outside. The ZIL-900M ventilation dust collector is most often used to capture dust extracted from enclosures of abrasive wheels of sharpening, grinding, and deburring machines.

The unit externally resembles a cylindrical metal container with internal structural elements. The housing is demountable, which simplifies maintenance and repair.
The unit performs two-stage air purification:
- the first stage – "coarse purification" or dry cyclone – allows larger particles to settle due to the vortex movement of air;
- the second stage – "fine purification" – air is filtered through a seven-sleeve filter.
Air is sucked into the dust collector through a nozzle, and purified air is discharged through a grille at the top of the unit. The unit filters out more than 99% of dust. Air movement and unit operation are provided by a blade fan driven by a general-purpose electric motor. The system operates in a recirculating mode, returning cleaned air back to the room.

Rotation is transmitted to the blade fan via an electric motor and a short coupling, ensuring durability of the ZIL dust collector's drive system. During operation, filtration efficiency increases due to dust accumulation on the filter sleeves, which enhances their filtering capacity.
The fabric filter sleeves used in the ZIL unit are reusable. To restore filtering performance, it is sufficient to clean them by shaking using a built-in mechanism without opening the housing.
During operation, dust settles in the lower part of the dust collector. It should be periodically cleaned by pulling out the built-in hopper. Dust collectors release a negligible amount of heat, which does not affect the indoor climate. The noise level generated by the unit is also low (within DSTU 12.1.003-83 limits).
