Low pressure centrifugal fan

Series VC 4-70 VZ (vzryvozaschischennyj) #6,3 low-pressure centrifugal fan (VR 88-72.1-5.5, VR 80-75-5) with corrosion-resistant electric motor Electric motor 4VR 100 L4 4.0 Power kW 1500 Vol./Min, made of aluminum alloys for explosive atmospheres.
This fan is intended for ventilation or air-conditioning systems handling gas–steam–air explosive mixtures of the 1st and 2nd categories (groups T1, T2, T3) under the “Rules for Electrical Installations” (PVE), which do not cause accelerated corrosion of flow-path materials. These mixtures must not exceed a temperature of 80 °C, and the content of fibrous materials, sticky substances, dust, and other solid contaminants must not exceed 100 mg/m³ under moderate (U) climate (placement category 3) and tropical (T) climate (placement category 2) conditions in accordance with DSTU 15150. Ambient temperature may range from −40 °C to +40 °C (+40 °C when equipped with tropical-rated motors).
Not suitable for conveying mixtures that:
- Contain explosive substances, added oxygen, or explosive dusts;
- Originate from process units where explosive substances are heated above their auto-ignition temperature or are under excess pressure.
Fans with enhanced spark protection are used in explosive-atmosphere zones classified as V-1a and B-1b under the Rules for Electrical Installations (PVE), provided normal operating conditions are maintained.
Modules (available separately):
- Fan assembly VC 4-70 VZ (vzryvozaschischennyj) #6,3 without motor
- Impeller wheel VC 4-70 VZ (vzryvozaschischennyj) #6,3 (VR 88-72.1-5.5)
- Scroll casing VC 4-70 VZ (vzryvozaschischennyj) #6,3 (VR 80-75-5)
- Electric motor Electric motor 4VR 100 L4 4.0 Power kW 1500 Vol./Min
General characteristics:
- Low pressure
- Single-sided intake
- Backward-curved blades
- Number of blades: 12
- Rotation direction: right and left
- Manufactured according to Technical Specifications TU U 28.2-24881057-003:2023
- Material: aluminum alloys
Purpose: Designed for ventilation or air-conditioning of explosive gas–steam–air mixtures of the 1st and 2nd categories (T1, T2, T3) under the Rules for Electrical Installations (PVE) without accelerated corrosion of flow-path materials.
Applications: Air-conditioning systems; ventilation systems; air-heating systems; other sanitary and industrial uses.
Operating conditions: Moderate-climate operation at ambient temperatures from −40 °C to +40 °C. Conveyed medium temperature must not exceed 80 °C.
Principle of operation: Air, by energy imparted by the impeller blades, enters under centrifugal force at 90° and is directed radially into the scroll casing; within the casing, pressurized air follows a spiral path and is discharged through the outlet.
Delivery set:
- Spiral casing
- Impeller wheel (front/rear discs, 12 blades, hub)
- Support frame (welded stand with mounting hole for vibration isolators or foundation)
- Collector (conical, attached to inlet; overlap adjustable by axial movement)
- Electric motor Electric motor 4VR 100 L4 4.0 Power kW 1500 Vol./Min
Casing position (viewed from suction side): right-hand (PR) and left-hand (LIV) rotation.
Placement categories:
1st category: Open-air operation (exposed to macroclimate factors)
2nd category: Under canopy or semi-enclosed, with outdoor-like temperature/humidity but protected from direct sunlight and precipitation
3rd category: Enclosed with natural ventilation, reduced temperature/humidity swings, minimal dust/sand
4th category: Artificially regulated climate (heated/cooled & ventilated premises, conditioned halls, ventilated underground areas)
5th category: High-humidity environments (unheated/unventilated basements, mines, ship holds, areas prone to condensation, etc.)
D/Dn – the ratio of the actual impeller diameter (D) to the nominal impeller diameter (Dn). Impellers with diameters differing from the nominal are referred to as coefficient impellers. The typical D/Dn ratios are: 0.9, 0.95, 1.05, and 1.1.
