Low-pressure centrifugal fan of the VC 4-70 VZ #4 w/motor 4VR 90 L4 2.2 kW 1500 rpm series, manufactured according to design scheme No. 1 from aluminum alloys for explosive environments.
This fan is designed for ventilation or air conditioning systems for explosive gas-air mixtures of the 1st and 2nd categories of groups T1, T2, T3 according to the classification of the "Electrical Installation Code" (EIC), which do not cause accelerated corrosion of the materials of the fan flow part. These mixtures must not exceed a temperature of 80 °C, and the content of fibrous materials, sticky substances, dust, and other solid impurities must not exceed 100 mg/m3 under conditions of moderate (U) climate (placement category 3) and tropical (T) climate (placement category 2). The ambient temperature is allowed in the range from -40°C to +40°C (+40°C when equipped with tropical version electric motors).
Fans of the VC 4-70 VZ (vzryvozaschischennyj) #4 series (VR 88-72.1-5.5, VR 80-75-5) are not applicable for moving gas-air mixtures:
A) containing explosives, additional oxygen, explosive dust;
B) from technological units in which explosive substances are heated above their autoignition temperature or are under excessive pressure.
Fans with enhanced spark protection are used for servicing explosive rooms of classes B-1a and B-1b according to the classification of the "Electrical Installation Code" (EIC) under normal operating conditions.

Operating principle of the centrifugal fan VC 4-70 VZ (vzryvozaschischennyj) #4 (VR 88-72.1-5.5, VR 80-75-5):
Air, receiving energy from the blades of the impeller, enters the fan under the influence of centrifugal force at a 90-degree angle and moves in a radial direction to the volute of the spiral casing. In the volute, moving along the spiral-shaped casing, the air under pressure is directed through the fan outlet.

The impeller consists of front and rear discs, 12 sheet blades, and a hub. The frame of the fan is welded. The base has a hole for installation on vibration isolators or a foundation. The electric motor and cover are mounted on the frame. The conical collector for supplying air to the impeller is fixed to the inlet pipe. The overlap between the collector and the front disc of the impeller is adjusted by axial movement of the collector in the inlet pipe.
