The fan VC 14-46 VZ (VZI) #5 (VR-287-46.1) is intended for ventilation or air conditioning systems for explosive gas-air mixtures of the 1st and 2nd categories, groups T1, T2, T3 according to the classification of "Electrical Installation Rules" (EIR), which do not cause accelerated corrosion of the flow part materials (air aggressiveness up to 80 °C), and do not contain fibrous materials, sticky substances, dust, or other solid impurities in quantities not exceeding 100 mg/m3 under moderate (U) climate conditions (placement category 3) and tropical (T) climate (placement category 2).
The ambient temperature should be within -40°C to +40°C (+40°C when equipped with tropical electric motors). The casing and impeller blades of explosion-proof fans are made from paired materials (steel-brass or steel-aluminum), which are not hazardous in terms of ignition by friction sparks.

The impeller consists of front and rear discs, 32 sheet blades, and a hub. The fan frame is welded. The base has a hole for installation on vibration isolators or a foundation. The electric motor and cover are mounted on the frame. The conical collector for supplying air to the impeller is fixed to the inlet pipe. The overlap between the collector and the front disc of the impeller is adjusted by axial movement of the collector in the inlet pipe.
