The medium-pressure centrifugal fan of the VC 14-46 VZ (VZI) #2,5 series (VR-287-46.1) with the Electric motor 4VR 71 B4 0.75 Power kW 1500 Vol./Min electric motor, manufactured from dissimilar materials, is intended for use in explosive atmospheres.

The VC 14-46 VZ (VZI) #2,5 fan (VR-287-46.1) is designed for ventilation or air conditioning systems of explosive gas-vapor-air mixtures of categories 1 and 2, groups T1, T2, T3, according to the "Rules for Electrical Installations" (REI), which do not cause accelerated corrosion of the flow part materials of the fans (air aggressiveness up to 80 °C), and do not contain fibrous materials, sticky substances, dust, or other solid impurities in concentrations exceeding 100 mg/m³, in moderate (U) climate conditions (placement category 3) and tropical (T) climate (placement category 2) according to DSTU 15150.

The ambient temperature should be between -40 °C and +40 °C (+40 °C when equipped with tropical-version electric motors).

The housings and impeller blades of explosion-proof fans are manufactured from material pairs (steel-brass or steel-aluminum) that do not pose a hazard of ignition from friction sparks according to DSTU 22782.0-81.

This model is an analogue of medium-pressure centrifugal fans: VR-287-46.1, VR 320-46, VR-300-46, VR 300-45, VR 289-46, VR 15-45.

Air, by receiving energy from the impeller blades, enters the fan under the influence of centrifugal force at a 90-degree angle and moves radially into the spiral casing; in the casing, moving along the spiral-shaped housing, it is directed under pressure through the fan exhaust.

The VC 14-46 VZ (VZI) #2,5 (VR-287-46.1) fan, equipped with the Electric motor 4VR 71 B4 0.75 Power kW 1500 Vol./Min electric motor, consists of the following main units:

The impeller consists of a front and rear disc, 32 sheet blades, and a hub.

The fan frame is welded. The base has an opening for installation on vibration isolators or a foundation. The electric motor and cover are mounted on the frame.

The conical collector for air supply to the impeller is attached to the inlet pipe. The gap between the collector and the front disk of the impeller is adjusted by axial movement of the collector in the inlet pipe.

  • Category 5: For use in premises with high humidity (e.g., unheated and unventilated underground spaces, including mines, basements, in the ground, in ship holds and other spaces where water may be present for long periods or frequent moisture condensation on walls and ceilings, particularly in some holds, certain workshops of textile, hydrometallurgical production, etc.).
