Purpose of scrubbers CS-3

Centrifugal scrubbers CS-3 are designed for efficient air cleaning from dust particles of quartz sand, coke, and coal. They are used in various aspiration and ventilation systems, ensuring a high level of harmful impurity filtration and protecting equipment from wear.

Application of scrubbers CS-3

• As the first stage of cleaning – in exhaust systems from crushing and screening equipment (crushers, elevators, transfer nodes, etc.), as well as from soil preparation equipment and shakeout grids in foundry shops.
• As the second stage of cleaning – in cases where the dust concentration in exhaust systems is very high (for example, from sandblasting chambers and cabins).
• Thanks to compact design – the fan can be integrated directly into the body of the dust collector, which reduces the overall system dimensions and simplifies installation.

To protect the fan from premature wear, it is recommended to install the scrubber CS-3 before the fan (on suction), while ensuring water drainage from the lower part of its housing.

Design features of scrubbers CS-3

• When installed after the fan (on discharge): installation can be vertical upwards, straight through the shaft, or horizontally – through the "snail".
• When installed before the fan (on suction): installation is possible only through the "snail".

Technical recommendations for operation

• Optimal air velocity in the scrubber’s inlet pipe: 15–23 m/s.
• For stable system operation, it is necessary to maintain constant water pressure before the nozzles – at least 2.0 m H₂O.
• It is recommended to install an intermediate water tank with a ball valve to maintain the required water pressure.

Efficiency

The air cleaning efficiency of scrubbers CS-3 ranges from 86% to 99%. The performance depends on:

• the fractional composition and specific gravity of dust;
• the air velocity in the inlet pipe;
• the diameter of the cylindrical part of the scrubber.

The efficiency increases with higher dust specific gravity, higher air velocity, and smaller diameter of the cylindrical part of the unit.
