Purpose of cyclones PVM 5SA
The wet ventilation dust collector with enhanced explosion safety PVM 5SA is designed for efficient purification of exhaust air from medium and fine dust particles. The unit reliably handles even the most complex types of contaminants — explosive, fibrous, and water-resistant dust with a density higher than that of water. Thanks to its improved design, PVM dust collectors are widely used in various industrial sectors.
When dust concentration exceeds 10 g/m³, it is recommended to use PVM 5SA as a secondary stage of purification. In such cases, the dusty air is first passed through dry dust collectors (e.g., cyclones). This approach significantly reduces water consumption and minimizes the amount of sludge generated.
After purification in PVM units, air recirculation is allowed in production facilities of categories B and D. Exceptions apply to environments containing hazardous substances of hazard classes 1–3 according to GOST 12.1.005-88, as well as facilities where pathogenic microorganisms may be present or where the air has a strong unpleasant odor.
Operating principle of cyclones PVM 5SA
Air purification in cyclone dust collectors PVM 5SA is based on the interaction of the air stream with water. Dusty air enters the housing through the inlet pipe and passes at high speed through the gap between the water surface and the partition. The stream captures water droplets that, together with the dust, are directed to the droplet separator. The water drains into side compartments, while the purified air passes through mist eliminators and is discharged outside by the fan.
In dust collectors of the PVMSA type, sludge removal is carried out through a convenient valve located at the bottom of the unit. For even more effective cleaning, a special flushing device is installed near the valve.
Thanks to this technology, PVM dust collectors provide a consistently high purification level — 95–99%, depending on the size and properties of dust particles.
