Application of Washer SIOT-5
The cyclone Washer SIOT-5 is designed for cleaning dusty air in exhaust ventilation systems. It is recommended for medium-level cleaning from most types of dust, except cementing and fibrous dusts.

Design features,
Washer SIOT-5 is a straight-through wet dust collector. Unlike wet-film devices, it provides double cleaning:

  • dust settles on moistened walls under the action of centrifugal forces;
  • additionally, there is air washing with sprayed water.

Maximum efficiency is achieved in the so-called “limit mode”, when light carryover of water droplets from the cyclone begins. The optimal inlet velocity is 15–21 m/s. Under such conditions, the cleaning efficiency reaches up to 95% (for mineral dusts with fractions less than 10 µm). If the velocity drops below 14 m/s, water spraying almost ceases.

Execution options
Cyclones Washer SIOT-5 are manufactured in three structural types:

  • Type I – with a swirl generator directing cleaned air downward;
  • Type II – with a snail-type swirl generator;
  • Type III – without a swirl generator, with upward air outlet.

Construction
The unit consists of a housing with an inlet pipe and a swirl generator (except for type III models). The inlet pipe includes:

  • hatch for inspection and maintenance;
  • inspection hole to monitor water supply;
  • lighting hole for adjustment during operation.
