CN-15-1200x1
Universal-cyclone dust collector of a single design without snails

Application of Cyclones CN-15-1200x1
The CN-15 cyclone is the most in-demand and versatile dust collector model. Its function is to remove dry dust particles from a gaseous medium. This device is installed in crushing and grinding units, used for the transportation of bulk materials and fly ash handling.
Cyclones CN-15-1200x1 are used for cleaning dry gases emitted during various technological processes. However, these units are not recommended for cleaning gas media containing liquid droplets or steam condensate. They should also not be used for removing sticky or fibrous dust, or in toxic or explosive environments.
Operating Principle of Cyclones CN-15-1200x1
Dust collection in cyclone CN-15-1200x1 occurs due to centrifugal forces that arise during the tangential entry of dusty gas into the cyclone body at a relatively high speed. Dust particles are thrown toward the cyclone wall, and the gas velocity after exiting the annular gap between the cyclone body and the outlet pipe is significantly reduced — becoming lower than the settling velocity of dust particles. In the central part of the cyclone CN-15-1200x1, the gas flow direction changes by 180°, leading to the complete separation of dust particles due to inertial forces. The dust settles at the bottom of the body and then enters a collection hopper for storage.
Design of Cyclones CN-15-1200x1
CN-15 cyclones can be manufactured in explosion-proof versions — structurally equipped with explosion relief valves, and the hopper has minimal dimensions to prevent the accumulation of explosive dust. To extend service life, it's allowed to weld additional plates to the most worn-out areas (such as the bottom of the cone and the inlet part of the scroll) on the outside of the cyclone body. Cyclones with a diameter less than 800 mm are not recommended for collecting abrasive dust due to accelerated wear.
The manufacturing material is carbon steel for ambient temperatures down to -40oC. For lower temperatures, low-alloy steels are used.
Depending on application conditions and required capacity, these cyclones are available in single or group configurations. Group-type CN-15 cyclones are produced in two modifications: with “right” and “left” gas flow rotation. Single units are manufactured only with “right” rotation (although the direction can be changed upon request). Additionally, group dust collection units can be equipped with a clean gas chamber (collector or scroll). Single CN-15 cyclones are equipped only with a scroll.
The cyclone may be supplied with a hopper. Its size, shape, and price may vary. The hopper should be selected based on the desired cleaning interval. All hoppers have a pyramidal shape.
Installation of Cyclones CN-15-1200x1
The dust fan supplies air into the system, and the cyclone filters it. The fan can be located before or after the cyclone. In the first case, it's advisable to use a dust fan. In the second case (fan after the cyclone), the VC 14-46 model can be used — but only with an air spinner installed.
