LTA Cyclones
LTA class cyclones are waste collection units for capturing large wood waste (shavings, wood chips) and wet finely crushed pieces of wood (sawdust) from the air, also in technological processes for separating large wood chips from smaller ones.
LTA class cyclone marking:
Example of cyclone marking - «LTA - 9», where:
- «LTA» - development of the Leningrad Forestry Academy;
- «9» - cyclone diameter number.
Design advantages
The design of the LTA class cyclone provides for installation in two versions:
- LTA class cyclone for injection - the modification is mounted after the industrial fan. This model is equipped with an umbrella to protect against precipitation.
- LTA class cyclone for suction - the modification is mounted before the industrial fan. This model is equipped with a screw-unwinder. The goal is to reduce possible loads on the ventilation system and hydraulic resistance.
The LTA class cyclone is structurally combined with a storage bunker or sluice container. For a fifteen percent increase in operating efficiency, the bunker is welded to the dust collector. It is advisable to determine the dimensions of the bunker specifically for each case, based on the volume of capture for a specific period of time. You can buy a cyclone of the LTA class in right or left versions. The first option - the flow moves clockwise. The second - against. The productivity in LTA cyclone models varies from 4100 to 14500 m3/h, diameter - from 1050 to 1700 millimeters, height 2425 ÷ 4000 millimeters, unit weight - 428 ÷ 979 kg. The efficiency of cleaning dusty air reaches 85 ÷ 90%
Advantages
- uniqueness;
- possibility of air purification from wet wood waste;
- possibility of air purification from rather large waste.
Field of application
LTA class cyclones are needed to create safe working conditions at woodworking enterprises, prevent emergencies, and also breakdowns of expensive equipment. LTA class cyclones are in demand for air purification from wood waste such as shavings, chips and wet finely crushed pieces of wood - sawdust, which are formed during the operation of woodworking machines, sawmills, in technological processes of separating large chips from smaller ones. LTA cyclones are also used as unloading cyclones.
Features of operation
When installing a LTA class cyclone outside the room after a dust-type fan (injection process), an umbrella must be installed to prevent precipitation from entering the system. When installing a cyclone before a fan (discharge process), a snail - a spinner is required to reduce the overall hydraulic resistance of the system and in particular the loads on the fan. Transportation of dry sawdust and shavings is accompanied by the formation of fine dust, grinding dust may already be contained in the transported material. A cyclone of this class alone does not provide sufficient air purification in this case, i.e. it is ineffective, a second stage of purification is required.
