SDC-CN-33 Cyclones
SDC-CN-33 conical cyclones are designed to clean soot-containing air and gas mixtures from foreign solid inclusions in aspiration, pneumatic cleaning and pneumatic transport systems of soot (technical carbon) production. This spiral-long-conical cyclone is the most efficient of all classes of conical cyclones with a snail-type swirler at the same hydraulic losses and equal housing diameters.
Marking of a cyclone of the class SDK-TSN-33:
Example of the designation «SDK-TSN-33-900», where:
- «SDK»- spiral-long-conical unit;
- «TSN»- cyclone developed by the Research Institute of Gas Purification;
- «33» - angle of inclination of the inlet pipe relative to the horizontal axis, °;
- «900» - diameter of the inner part of the cyclone, mm.
Design advantages
The standard version of the SDK-CN-33 cyclone is made of ferrous metal, resistant to corrosion. Given the need to use these units for work with aggressive or explosive environments, they must be made of stainless steel or aluminum alloys, respectively. The unit of this class has a long conical part and a specific spiral inlet pipe, in which a rotating gas (air) flow is created. The cyclone of this class can be of both left and right versions (left - rotation of the gas flow counterclockwise relative to the exhaust point, right - clockwise). Due to the elongated part of the cone, maximum dust collection efficiency is ensured. The SDK-CN-33 class cyclone is usually used in a single version. Due to the significant elongation of the cone, group combination of these cyclones is rarely used.
The productivity of cyclone models of the SDK-CN-33 class varies from 1100 to 63600 m3/h, diameter - from 400 to 3000 millimeters at a maximum pressure of 1440 Pa. The maximum concentration of contaminants in the gas stream being cleaned is 1000 g/m3. 250 °C is the maximum temperature of the gas being cleaned. The optimum speed of the supplied mixture - 11 m/s. The efficiency of cleaning the clogged air stream reaches (the presence of dust particles with a density of 2.7 g/cm3 with a min size of 10 microns) 75% ÷ 98%
Operating principle
The functioning of the SDK-TSN-33 cyclone is based on the use of centrifugal forces that arise due to the specifics of the cyclone design, which contribute to the swirling of the working mixture inside the housing, the separation of dust particles from its composition. The working mixture is supplied through the inlet pipe on the side of the cyclone. Due to the special shape of the latter, the mixture, swirling, moves down the housing in a spiral. Mud inclusions are repelled from the walls of the unit, fall down, and settle in the hopper. The gas (air) flow purified from unwanted inclusions is directed upwards in the housing, from where it is discharged from the unit through an exhaust coaxial pipe.
Advantages
- the highest efficiency among devices with a swirler - «snail» with the same values of hydraulic losses and housing diameters;
- high level of purification with a relatively small coefficient of speed of supply of clogged gases to the unit.
Field of application
The cyclone of the SDK-CN-33 class can be used for cleaning flue gases from solid particles, dust. These devices are indispensable in boiler houses. They are designed to remove solid large particles of soot-containing air and gas mixtures in pneumatic transport systems during soot processing, in the production of carbon black. The SDK-CN-33 cyclone is in demand in the energy sector, mechanical engineering, and metallurgy for cleaning boilers from soot. They can also be used in the chemical and oil industries, as well as other industries. It is not recommended to use cyclones of the SDK-TSN-33 class for cleaning flue gases that contain fibrous particles and stick together, including fatty, oily inclusions that can collect in large lumps. This cyclone effectively captures foreign particles with a diameter of 5-6 microns.
Features of operation
A fan is used to feed the clogged mixture into the SDK-TSN-33 class cyclone for steam. For joint work, the latter can be placed after or in front of the cyclone. The VTs 14-46 fan is often used. The VTsP 6-46, VTsP 7-40, VTsP 6-45, and VTsP 5-45 series are also in demand. It is also possible to install smoke exhausters: DN, VDN, D classes.
