Cyclones UCM-38
Cyclones of the UCM-38 class are designed to capture finely dispersed solid inclusions at processing and cereal production enterprises, in aspiration units and pneumatic transport systems in order to prevent environmental pollution by production waste. Cyclones of the UCM-38 class are a modernized version of the UCM-38 class.
Marking
Cyclones «UCM-38 - 750», where:
- «U» - universality;
- «C» - cyclone unit;
- «M» - modernized;
- «38» - slope of the inlet flow of dusty flue gases, °;
- «750» - diameter of the cylinder cavity, mm.
Design advantages
Standard cyclones of the UCM-38 class are designed to work with non-aggressive contaminated environments at ambient temperatures in the range of minus 40 ÷ plus 40 °C. Based on this, cyclones of the UCM-38 class are made of carbon steel. For operation at ambient temperatures below minus 40 °C, these units are made of low-alloy steel, for cleaning an aggressive mixture - of stainless steel.
The difference between this cyclone and the earlier version of the UCM-38 is the presence of a spiral spinner of the dust-gas mixture inside the housing. For convenience of arrangement or facilitation of grouping of cyclones into one system, cyclones of class UCM-38 are produced in right and left versions. The flow rate of the air flow being cleaned in models of cyclones of class UCM-38 varies from 170 to 2330 m3/h, the diameter of the cylindrical section – 250÷850 millimeters.
Operating principle
The supply of dusty air inside the unit housing is carried out at high speed through the side inlet pipe. As a result of the forced twisting of the flow, the process of trapping dust particles in the cyclone of class UCM-38 is carried out due to the appearance of centrifugal forces. Foreign solid suspension under their influence is directed to the walls of the housing, after which it moves through the cone into the bunker. The air flow, freed from contaminants in this way, is discharged into the atmosphere at a reduced speed through the cyclone outlet.
Advantages
The use of a spinner gives the UCM-38 class of cyclones certain advantages:
- the cleaning efficiency reaches 99.5%;
- high productivity;
- reduction of aerodynamic losses;
- reliability.
Application
Cyclones of the UCM-38 class are in demand in the peeling, crushing, and grinding departments of cereal and flour mills. These units are also used in woodworking enterprises for filtering technological emissions from fine sawdust, shavings, non-fibrous and non-sticky inclusions, and grinding dust. Being universal devices, UCM-38 class cyclones are also used in agriculture, textile, food industries, energy and other areas.
Installation and operation features
UCM-38 class cyclones are made in the UHL climatic version, which meets the conditions of a temperate and cold climate, when used in placement categories 1, 2, 3, 4 in accordance with the requirements of GOST 15150-96, in aspiration systems of production categories B, C, D, D regarding explosion and fire safety. Cyclones of class UCM-38 are mounted on both the suction and discharge sides of the fan.
This is specified in the design documents for construction. Accordingly, it is necessary to install a "snail" or "umbrella". When installing the cyclone and servicing it, special attention is paid to sealing the air duct system to avoid burn injuries to workers. The temperature of the external insulating surface above + 45 ° C is unacceptable.
